Essential Clinical Anatomy, 3rd ed, (Lippincott 2007)

The key features include the following:
  • The revised text has a stronger clinical orientation.
  • A significant number of new illustrations have been created, and many existing illustrations have been revised, recolored and resized. Most illustrations are in full color and are designed to highlight important facts and show their relationship to clinical medicine and surgery.
  • More illustrated clinical correlations, known as blue boxes, have been included to help with the understanding of the practical value of anatomy.
  • New color photographs have been added in the surface anatomy sections to demonstrate the relationship between anatomy and physical examination, diagnosis and clinical procedures.
  • New medical images (via radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, and ultrasonography) have been included, often with correclative illustrations. Current diagnostic imaging techniques demonstrate anatomy as it is often viewed clinically.
  • Interactive case studies are included on the accompanying web site, providing further clinical integration of anatomy.
